one day during a Supreme Court session, what then?
What if he's questioning some attorney pleading a case before the court, starts to slur his words, and then falls flat on his face right up there on the bench? What then?
Will the story be that he had a "minor stroke," or was hit by a some "rare flu?"
Will his aides quickly clear all the beer cans (and empty bottles) out of his chamber?
Will the entire Republican Party and their voters tsk, tsk, over whatever "illness" struck him at that moment?
Will Fox "news" have every medical specialists testify that "shit happens?"
Will Democrats who claim he was shitfaced drunk be vilified as partisan hacks?
My answer to all of these questions is "Yes." You can bet that the fascists who are running America will do anything and everything to defend this miserable prick and ensure that he remains on "The Highest Court In The Land."
It seems that the Republicans have driven the last coffin nail into democracy. That coffin nail is named Kavanaugh. And they will make damned sure that he can't be pulled out.
On edit: This OP is, of course, speculation. But what if it actually happens?

(9,874 posts)As a lawyer for over 47 years I have seen judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys blotto drunk on occasions too numerous to count. Some judges you would try like hell never to have to go to their courtroom after lunch. Some would call you into chambers for conferences and you'd get knocked over by their breath, which for some reason they thought they could hide with things like Sen Sen.

(15,031 posts)The worst explanation is that he wasn't.
If he was sober when he threw dung in the faces of Democratic senators, that alone should disqualify him. But the criminals, who call themselves the Republican Party, really don't give a rat's ass. And they will probably end up confirming this horrible creature to the SCOTUS.
And that will be another coffin nail in American democracy. Imagine if sexual assault ever came up for a decision before this Supreme Court. They'd probably rule that there is no such thing.
