Lindsey Graham says he will vote for Kavanaugh even if FBI links him to sexual assault

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/09/minds-made-lindsey-graham-says-will-vote-kavanaugh-even-fbi-links-sexual-assault/

During an interview on 60 Minutes that is set to air Sunday night, Graham appeared with Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana.

Graham suggested that he had set the bar much higher for changing his mind.

“My mind’s made up about Brett Kavanaugh and it would take a dynamite accusation,” Graham opined. “Because, here’s the deal, Dr. Ford, I don’t know what happened but I know this, Brett denied it vigorously and everybody she named couldn’t verify it, it’s 36 years old.”

“I don’t see anything new changing [my mind],” he concluded.

and whatever else Trump promised you.

It's not like you have daughters, even sons and never will. Sexual assault is not a crime that has ever concerned you. You were the AG in the military too. Those poor women during your tour.
I'm sorry active duty military when you were looking for justice and all you got was this clown. I wonder if the investigational journalists can get access to his former opinions in the military.

of course always has been, and he hopes to get close to Trump to finally turn be able to trade his hysterical warnings about imminent holocaust whenever something he doesn't like happens for military attacks. Very dangerous. Trump makes a lot of war noise but has been very timid so far about actually coming through on his bellicose threats.

NYMag: Reportedly Graham’s influence has waxed as that of Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Bob Corker — soon to retire — has waned. And that worries some Republicans wary of how Graham encourages Trump’s impulsiveness:

“Lindsey Graham has been virtually wrong on every foreign policy decision in the last two decades. From Iraq to Libya to North Korea,” said a senior GOP congressional aide. “We would be at war with half the world if Lindsey had it his way.” ...

For all of the humor that Graham deploys in public and in private, and despite the hagiographical haze that has naturally enveloped his late friend John McCain, it remains true that the Three Amigos weren’t joking around about their determination to reshape the world with U.S. military force. That point of view was bad enough when it was being advanced during the administration of George W. Bush, who acknowledged some limits on U.S. power. For a president like Trump who seems obsessed with perceptions of strength and sometimes addicted to rage, it’s frightening.

From Woodward's book: "In September 2017, just days after President Donald Trump dubbed North Korean leader Kim Jong Un “little rocket man,” the president assembled his national security team at the White House to discuss U.S. policy toward the hermit kingdom …

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) attended, and offered a brazen suggestion for dealing with Kim. Graham recommended that Trump encourage the Chinese government to assassinate Kim and replace him with a North Korean general whom “they control.”

He will not change and so be it. I agree he is only one, focus on Murkowski and McCaskill, and Manchin. Maybe Flake or even Scott (the junior senator who will leave the Senate after his term.) will make the difference.

She issued a statement a couple of weeks ago, emphasizing his support for - or lack of willingness to restrict - dark money groups as a primary concern of hers.

Her Republican opponent, Josh Hawley, has enthusiastically embraced Kavanaugh and Trump.

this kind of stuff is really being addressed to an audience of one.

Observers are reporting a huge change in Graham since McCain's death. He's become a conspicuously loyal Trump minion (a U.S. senator!), which he wasn't before under McCain's influence.
