5. To begin with, Nicolle is a Never Trumper. Further back, she & Steve Schmidt didn't vote for McCain

...because he brought Sarah Palin on board. Currently, she sometimes references visiting her family as very awkward because she finds herself "in the middle of Trump Country."

Her party sailed far away into wingnuttery and fascism and left her and Steve Schmidt far behind.

As to your original question: she is as appalled by the revelations about him as we are. She once worked with him and this is not the face he showed to her.
