SNL - not impressed. Too many commercials, skits not great, wasted my time on that.

The opener with Matt Damon was fantastic and I loved the skit about the rednecks moving to Vermont.

9. SNL has always been "spotty" -- Some great, some fair,

some just not funny, at least in my opinion.

I thought the Cold Open and Weekend Update were very good -- the rest, not so much.

Damon, was great. Some other characterizations spotty in the same sketch.

Worth watching the opening for me.

4. It was as great as it always was

cold open was brilliant, Weekend Update was hilarious, some of the skits were good and some were OK. Musical guest was a joke.* But not the funny kind.


*I freely admit to bias against Kanye. I don't understand how he is considered a titan of hip-hop. Nearly every other hip-hop artist I've ever heard is far more enjoyable.

SNL often has musical guests I don't care for but sometimes they are great. Kanye wasn't one of those great ones.

Because it can't be said often enough, Kanye West or Ye or whateverthehell his name is this week sucks. WTF was that first bit where he was costumed as a bottle? He gets paid for that crap?

12. I watched the Kavanaugh skit here. It kind of minimized how awful he was. Matt Damon humanized him.

How could he not? Matt Damon is a decent person on a tight deadline. He didn't have months to prepare and fuck up his body and his relationships to go to that dark place.

I get that some people like to laugh at this stuff. And it helps. It's a protest.

But I can't even MSNBC these days.

If I need to lighten up I'll watch a British baking show.

I can't laugh at current events right now.
