"It's revenge on behalf of the Trump family, the Kochs, the Mercers, Sheldon Adelson and..."

“...millions of dollars from right-wing opposition groups! Hey you, Republican senator, when did you stop beating your wife? Are you sure? Word to the wise: vaping weed doesn’t leave you with a hangover, and I like weed. I still vape fairly regularly, but it’s non-addictive. So, are you folks about done destroying my reputation and credibility?”

How long would a SCOTUS nominee by a Democratic president last, having blown her/his stack (no matter how true) in that manner?

I’d say about as long as it took security to wrestle her/him to the ground.

Republicans take such advantage of Democratic/progressive fairness and decency. They get to destroy everything in sight, but man-oh-man, just let a lone Democrat open his/her mouth in objection, it’s suddenly a calculated, coordinated, multi-pronged, deep-state attack on the very fabric of the country.

Republicans just assume that we won’t hit back hard, so they pound away relentlessly on their state-TV network, satisfying their base’s blood-lust. And during the distraction, they loot the store six ways from Sunday.

This precisely why Democrats need a gunslinger like Avenatti— the deck is completely stacked against Democrats so severely that some protective muscle is now a necessity. I wish we had a dozen Avenattis to call out Republicans’ bullshit, and get the Democrats OFF the defensive.

The Repukes are absolutely brazen -- Not that crazy about Avenatti, but if he can do the job, good on him.

3. Honestly, we need more people who fight like Avenatti and less who "fight" like Schumer...

This "my friends across the aisle", fairness and civility with occasional bouts of overly scripted and rehearsed outrage, old school way of leading/governing that the majority of Dems do is so far beyond outdated and worthless in today's climate.

4. Precisely. I wish we could have the purity of the high road, but that's a faded pipe-dream.

It’s mud-in-the-gutter time 24/7 with Republicans now, especially as they morph into genuine fascism— they’re finding that to be a good fit and a great way to ensure that elusive “permanent Republican majority.” They’d LOVE to have a complete authoritarian ruler.

You can’t fight this level of infection with aspirin alone. Heavy antibiotics are what’s needed, and that’s Avenatti and anyone like him who will take the fight to the Republicans.

The tough working people are cast as weak and the weak upper class are cast as tough. Things are exactly opposite of what is real.

That's how they're able to peel off a couple DEM voters here and a couple there with blatantly false attack ads.
