If Trump isn't directing the Alert Test, then we have a legal right to Block it. (2006)

Somethings mighty fishy about this mandatory Alert messaging. Someone's pulling yet another fast one on
Wed, Oct 3rd between 2-3 pm ET

Here's the Highlighted wording that speaks "bullshit" to the mandatory wording.
**Correct me if I'm wrong in seeing a scam on us all**.

Here:
"Millions of American wireless-phone users on Wednesday, Oct. 3, will receive an emergency test message bearing the banner “Presidential Alert,” unless their phones are shut off or out of reception range or if they’re in the middle of a long phone call.

Users will not be able to block or otherwise opt out of the test “Presidential Alert” message.
Under the 2006 law establishing the wireless-alert system, Congress allowed participating carriers to let subscribers block any emergency alerts — except for those issued by the sitting U.S. president.

The test alert, the U.S. government’s first nationwide test of the Wireless Emergency Alert System, won’t be from President Trump per se. In a media briefing with reporters Tuesday, a senior FEMA official said Trump will not be directly triggering the Oct. 3 alert"

1. Does the law itself define the word "issued"?

It may not mean the same thing as the word “directed”, used by the FEMA official. Many statutes define their terms right at the beginning. That’s where to look.

3. I don't have the legal expertise. I do understand your valid point though.

But what I do have is an inner bullshit meter develped out of necessity & seemingly on high alert since 2016.

In reading the words of the article, without the legal docs in front of us, I'm saying, if the Pres doesn't order the alert then the 2006 ruling applys.

My phone will be turned off for a couple hrs on Wednesday afternoon.

Maybe we will see a ruling in those now challenging this mandatory intrusion before the next Presidential message appears on our phones.

I say this must be stopped before it goes any further.
Consider who is issuing this message & who is the President they answer to..

No thanks. Ever.

I have a cordless phone not a cell phone. I could just unplug it and that's the end.

Some staffer will get in, select the type of alert (which will be a national one) and send a standard "test" template message.
