Manchin votes yes, and I am willing to bet he Loses Democratic support and votes next month, and the election becomes much tighter.

I really don't see him solidifying his lead by abandoning his own party.

9. If Collins Says She's A No In 4 Hours...

It will give every indication that unless Manchin votes Yes and allows it to go to a tiebreaker, the nomination is over.

I see Zero chance she comes out today as a No, given that Murkowski looks likely to be a No.

I also think they will give Murkowski cover, by all 3 voting Yes, he gets in 51-49, and nobody takes the blame.

They need Collins and Murkowski with Republican Sen. Steve Daines not being present tomorrow.

If they have 1 no they will have to wait until Monday for Daines to get back. The SCOTUS session starts Monday and it would start without Kavanaugh. Not sure what that would mean if the important cases get started Monday, Kavanaugh wouldn't be able to rule on the ones he wasn't there for.
