What will happen in the country if the repubs retain the House and Senate?

And how will it be fought?

It will use "dirty" tactics. It will be mean and vicious. It will be led by anyone who is tired of seeing the Rs trod all over our democracy.

One thing is for sure, it will not take "civility" under consideration.

Hopefully not with open violence as that would end poorly for us.

Too easy to misconstrue my meaning. Really, it's just about take no prisoners and don't behave politely politics.

Taking the high road doesn't work.

Massive vote fraud and cheating.

And that the blue wave will wash away the orange stain.

If we don't we're totally fucked. The House would be great but without the Senate Trump will probably ram through 1-2 more Supreme Court justices.

They will probably keep the Senate, but not even that is a guarantee. Nate Silver gives us about a 1 in 4 chance of winning the Senate, too.

538 has our chances at 74.2% and other mathematical models have always been lower, in the mid to high 60s.

We need to gain two dozen seats in the House, while Republicans merely need to stay where they are to hold the senate. The models have Republicans at anywhere from 77.7% on 538 to as high as 86% elsewhere to retain the senate.

In other words, they are more likely to retain the senate than we are to take the House. IMO, that has always been the case, although 538 had it the other way for a few weeks.

Independent voters own our fate

CA, OR, WA, NY and New England.

then we will never have a Democratic President again. And you can probably kiss the House and the Senate goodbye forever as well.

I would expect MI, NJ, MN to leave as well.

In all honesty, we have more in common with Canada than we do with the southern states, such as yours...South Carolina. That gap will widen even further after November 6th.

from New York. My whole neighborhood is filled with other people who wanted to escape the cold winters of the Northeastern states north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Another Democratic vote in NY was not a big deal. It may be a game changer for Southern states that are seeing an influx of Northeastern voters.

It's fucked up now, but if they retain control, this country will be even more fucked up. Like a football bat.
