(115,276 posts)At least he'll get along with the other conservative judges. Gorsuch even went to the same prep school (although as far as anyone knows he wasn't the class drunk). Roberts will try to keep him from jumping the rails completely and probably won't assign him to write opinions in controversial cases that could get the court in even more trouble.

(25,746 posts)Nothing that happened before will matter. He'll be totally immune from any real criticism or outside reality. Like Clarence Thomas, who has hung in there with absolutely no consequences.
I knew people who worked for the EEOC when he was there, and to put it mildly, he was incompetent in that job. So of course he ws promoted to the Supreme Court.
It's always the Peter Principal in full operation.
