So if the Emoluments Clause case against Trump makes it to the Supreme Court are we screwed?

With Kavanaugh in? How would something like that go through the courts? Can they just keep appealing until they get their friendly Supreme Court? Is that what could start happening in all cases against Republicans? They just keep pushing them until their Supreme Court sugar daddy's clean up their mess?

1. I reject the notion that all of the other right-leaning justices will automatically support Trump

I think it still depends on the issue, to some extent.

Maybe that's more of a 'hope'.

5. I would expect that case to go to the Supreme Court

Because that particular case is so precedent-setting and unusual, I do believe the Supreme Court would take the case. I'd expect we'd probably lose 5 - 4 but I suppose we could hope for a 5 - 4 victory.

However, keep in mind that the Supreme Court does not take a large number of cases. It is something like 70 to 80 cases per year. They take cases where different federal courts have disagreed or are for other reasons important cases.

We were screwed BEFORE he got rigged onto the Supreme Court.

But now we're DOUBLE SCREWED.

It won't unseat the orange a'hole before his term runs out.
The court system runs at a snails pace...nobody posting on DU today will be alive before that case is adjudicated.

any influence he might have now. Kavanaugh whill have been the only one to use him to his own advantage, and then burn him afterwards.

BUT-

Right now, Kav needs frump to protect him while in office. The ass-kissing can stop after he's out, and Kav's there for life.

Can NYC or DC have the cases tried in their courts like NYC will investigate his family's tax fraud from their father? The DC former post office has a case too, can't the DC court handle this and prosecute it?

Aren't Mueller and Rosenstein sending a lot of the crimes to state courts to protect aspects of the investigation from being stopped by the fucking moron and the SCOTUS?

10. The latest on the Trump Org campaign fraud is that DJT can't be on a non-profit for 10 years

That'll sting. Let's hope it's not over because his spoiled brats are the Board Members, aka check writers to their daddy. They should go to jail for fraud...and he because he Knew Where the Money Came From. Chances 1-10? .5

Same for the generational tax fraud...the federal judge sister was in on it...chances of that? See above.

But anyway, Ivanka is too busy getting ready to run for president.

any issue that the Repugs are against and the Dems change for the better - the Repugs will take to the courts they stacked to rule in their favor. There will be a lot of litigation going forward.

While Roberts and Alito are extremely conservative, they are not Trump sycophants so I don’t automatically assume they will blow up the Constitution in his service.
