I think Nikki Haley resigning is the official beginning of the Republican party breakup.

The party is about to split into two: Trumpites and moderate republicans...IMO.

3. Nikki Haley is no moderate. And she is not leaving the administration in protest, she is simply

moving on to other things, for the time being.

In announcing her departure she heaped praise on Trump, even claiming that America is "respected again."

15. Mostly because of form not because of substance, Pence can "say" the same things in different ways

... and they'd be all in.

9. No, she's trying to salvage her own political career.

Word has it, she took illegal gifts in the form of private jet rides, which is being investigated. She's getting out of the spotlight in hopes that nobody will notice the outcome of that investigation, especially if they uncover additional dirt on her. Which there probably will be. Also, she sees the writing on the wall, and she thinks that if she gets out now, people won't smell the Trump stank with which she has covered herself.

As others have pointed out, Haley is no moderate. She's just another far-right con artist who does whatever is politically expedient for herself. She is as phoney as a three dollar bill, and the "moderate" thing is just another of her cons.

10. I don't know why she resigned but i don't believe that is the reason.

'Moderates' like Susan Collins have already gone over to Trump.

11. There was a time in the olden days, when republucans weren't THAT bad, altho, I have always been a d

But I think 1. She will work on her career and plan a 2024 possible run, or 2. She had enough of Trump and wants to save face, or 3. She will be on the side of the normal republicans and yes, there are some decent ones out there. The party is going to split. Everyone knows. She will be on one side and the Trumpite/Bannon people will be the other FEW of the other side.

IMO...

13. Could be because they got every damn thing they wanted out of Shitler.

The Koch bros and their ilk raided the treasury and blew up the deficit, wall street pirates threw off all restraints, the religious reich got their drunk frat boy rapist installed on SCOTUS to kill Roe v Wade, Trump terrorizing Hispanic Americans and kidnapping and jailing brown children in his gulag.

Now the GOP could move against Herr Dump for 2020 with a "moderate" ticket and reel in the suckers one more time!

14. There are no moderate Republicans.

They became obsolete in 1996 when Fox News was born.
