From the GUARDIAN
The Wall Street Journal, citing Turkish official who had heard the recording, said Khashoggi was allegedly killed and dismembered in the office of the Saudi consul general, Mohammad al-Otaibi, who was in the room at the time. A voice on the recording can be heard inviting him to leave, the report said.
Salah Muhammad al-Tubaigy, a Saudi military forensics official,is reportedly heard putting on headphones to listen to music as he begins to dismember the body, and encourages other people in the room to do the same.
According to Middle East Eye, Khashoggi was dragged from the office to Otaibis study next door, where Tubaigy began cutting up his body on a table while he was still alive.
Pompeo met Erdoğan and the Turkish foreign minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, within the confines of Ankaras Esenboga airport on Wednesday morning, a day after Erdoğan had said police had found freshly painted walls and toxic substances during a search of the consulate, where Khashoggi was last seen alive two weeks ago.
Turkish media said on Wednesday that Pompeo was expected to bring answers with him from Riyadh, his previous stop, where he met with King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir. Pompeo described the visit as highly successful and said the Saudis had promised to carry out a thorough, complete and transparent investigation.

(53,764 posts)As horrible as it sounds killing him first before dismembering his body would've been more humane, if one can even use such a word involving this extreme cruelty.

Now T has been doing it for the last 2 years.
I bet the next President will too.
This murder is a horrible thing. But 9/11 was about 3,000 times worse.
Honestly - I don't get it. There must be some deep dark secrets at the highest levels that none of us are privy to. I just don't get why Saudi Arabia is so off limits to anyone once they step into the Oval Office.

(16,063 posts)Visqueen
Visqueen is a brand of polyethylene plastic sheeting (typically Low-density polyethylene) produced by British Polythene Industries Limited. It is the registered trade mark of British Polythene Limited in numerous countries throughout the world. It is commonly between 4 and 10 mils (0.004 to 0.01 in./0.1 to 0.25 mm) thick and is available in clear, opaque, blue and black.[1][citation needed]
Visqueen is used for many purposes. It is commonly used as a temporary tarpaulin, as a drop cloth when painting, to cover concrete as it sets, to line decorative ponds, and to cover the ground before applying stone or wood chips to prevent weed growth. Large (100 x 20 ft) sheets of Visqueen are used during floods to protect levees from wave wash erosion.[2](p16) It is often suggested[by whom?] for use in greenhouses. Visqueen is used as a condensation barrier inside walls when installing HVAC systems. It is also used as a ground cover in the crawl space of home foundations as a vapor barrier.[3] The use of Visqueen underneath a basement is to prevent water infiltration from water present in the ground that would pass through the concrete or dirt floor and bring in unwanted dampness.

(26,060 posts)the administration planned to turn a blind eye to the brutal killing but the poster was implying Jarad was behind the killing and that's simply not true. I don't know why the saudi's didn't bail him out on the 666 building but they didn't. Qatar did.

In other words not much difference and I'm sure the two countries still maintain political connections.

(26,060 posts)Not really sure what that entails:
On June 5, 2017, Saudi Arabia had officially cut ties with Qatar.[23] Saudi Arabia said it took the decision to cut diplomatic ties due to Qatars embrace of various terrorist and sectarian groups aimed at destabilising the region, including the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaida, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and groups supported by Iran in the kingdoms Eastern Province city of Qatif.[4] Islam Hassan argues that: "Starting the 2000 and ahead, Qatar has been pursuing an independent foreign policy that at times clash with the Saudi strategic interests in the region. The fact that Qatar has not been toeing the Saudi foreign policy, and dealing with states and non-state actors that the Saudis do not approve of have caused this tension in relations over the past couple of years, mainly after the Arab uprisings. This tension was revived by the hacking saga of Qatar News Agency and the statement that was attributed to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, which Qatar falsified later. This happened at a time Mohamed bin Salman is facing competition from Mohamed bin Nayef over the Saudi throne. Mohamed bin Salman tried to have the US blessing during Trump's visit to Saudi to force Qatar to its knees, and go back home with a win that would give him more popularity in Saudi Arabia, easing his journey to power."

Pretty ironic reason since Saudi's finance every sunni terrorist organization in the region.

(26,060 posts)And the Saudis and Qataris have broken their relations as of 2017.

They're all crooks and I wouldn't want to be Kushner right about now because the facts on the journalist's murder is going to come out, and for that matter, wouldn't want to be trump either.
