Fuck MSNBC
Fuck the whole lot of them.
The same people ranting about "Democrats lack of message", are the very same people that gave us hours, upon hours of a FUCKING EMPTY PODIUM in 2016. There were times I thought my TV had developed a new "screen saver". You want a message? Here it is..."Go Fuck Yourselves"! When sane people are once again in power, we're going to do all we fucking can to get rid of "corporate news", and ensure that quite a few of these "pundits" spend the remainder of their lives covering obituaries in some god-forsaken shit-hole in Dumbfuckistan, 'Murika.

8. no unlikely...
do you really think they want depressed turnout?
No, what they want is: 1. Not to be "wrong" again. They are doing the whole Trump defied the odds so he must have some sort of magic we are missing. We better err on the side of his winning. 2. A horse race. They want a nailbiter. A blue wave is already baked into a lot of assumptions. Talking about a blue wave for three weeks isn't going to get anyone watching or talking. It's boring. 3. Sticking to common themes. Republicans are bullies who have lost their minds, and Dems are weak and in disarray and feckless. It's a tried and true media story and it's pretty tough for them to break out of it. 4. To be the experts. Joe thinks he knows how to run every race in the country "just like he did." So he doesn't want to say, hey looks like the Dems are doing well, he wants to say, boy these guys are screwing it up, if they only did things like I did them back in Florida. And then you have folks like Mika who simply are negative worry-worts as a baseline personality. |

5. Joey Scar's rant this morning
about Dems don't have an angry message, much less any message at all. Well I just turned off the TV. Turned on my local classical music station (WRR Dallas), which is excellent. And like magic, my day day got instantly better.
What struck me as interesting is that Scar seems to think that only an ANGRY message is worthwhile. And here I am, telling everyone not to be controlled by their anger. But to stay calm and focused on voting. Those ReThugs sure are addicted to anger. |

42. Americans respond well to "angry" messages
FDR's "This day will live in infamy" speech. Also his "Only thing we have to fear is fear itself" -- also very high on the aggression meter like he was going to war with the Depression, which he kinda did. Then there's JFK's defiant "We choose to go to the Moon speech"
Its not Conservatives who get going when leaders show anger or aggression, its a human thing. Joe Scar isn't wrong here. The Democrats are too nice with the thuggish Republicans. We need to get mean and uncompromising. Yes, uncompromising. The Republicans do not compromise with us, they don't even think they are here to serve us. They haven't negotiated with the Democratic Party in good faith for decades, which started when Newt Gingrich won Speaker of the House in 1994. They have seen us as the enemy since then, and treated us as the enemy. Get mad, make noise, go vote, bring your pals, also good and angry with you to the polls and VOTE! |

Have you ever watched MSNBC? Have you ever watched it in comparison to other media outlets? What more do you want? It is the most pro-Progressive thing you can find on TV. This is just another example of Democrats fighting each other over trivial points of philosophical purity. I’ll trash this thread and move on. |

16. This is why I don't have cable.
I have no desire to waste my precious time watching what passes for "news" these days. The only bright spot regarding this is that I highly doubt that TV news is going to be relevant or even around in one or two generations (not that I'll be around either). They'll go the way the newspapers went.
I grew up in a household that valued getting at least one or two newspapers and seeing my parents read them voraciously. By the early '90's newspapers were becoming worthless. I haven't subscribed to a newspaper since they decided that Clinton's sex life was considered a "CRISIS" for the country. And, yes, I clearly remember headlines like that. Now we have a real crisis, and that word isn't used at all. Thank Goddess there's the Internet. |

![]() For all the talk about Khashoggi (it's awful, given) could we delve into the KSA human right record on Yemen? Could we talk about Trumpworld's conflicts of interest and corruption in relation to KSA? Could we blast McConnell's pronouncements on Soc. Sec., Medicare and Medicaid? Could we talk about how voters are concerned about healthcare across the board (it's a bi-partisan issue)? Could we talk about the corruption in the Trump administration instead of navel gazing his rallies and Twitter feed? Could we heavily cover the very real voter suppression going on? That was MSNBC. I turned it off. I am furious. Hillary didn't misspeak, and the only point of throwing Monica in her face in 2018 is to continue to tear Hillary down and continue to publicly humiliate her. Reduce every single achievement of her life to nothing and leave her with the eternal and false label of wronged woman who wronged the other woman. Who are these Democrats of which they speak? The ones who despise Hillary and want her to crawl under a rock? Name them so I can forget to ever donate money to their campaigns again. I. Am. Furious. Oh, and MSNBC? MSNBC has some progressive anchors but it isn't a progressive network. I switch back and forth. I'm seeing a change in the last week, though, to pushing inaccurate memes, e.g. Democrats have no message, Hillary Clinton is death to the party faithful, the Democratic Party is deeply divided, etc. It's bunk.

Most particularly as to MSNBC"s "Both Sides Do It" Brigade: Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell. I guess those two shitheads don't think they shamed themselves sufficiently during the 2016 campaign. To hell with them, and any other "friends" who are intent on nothing but easy stories to file---as opposed to the fate of this nation and the very real dangers of fascist overthrow.
