Give it a look. He's been a Democrat for years and has something to say.

(13,877 posts)On Edit: Vanity is a person who covers up their aging, gray hair and partially bald head with a squirrel-tail rug. So, Avenatti wins it on both fronts. He is secure enough to be bald and Fair enough to honor women and their stories. Works for me.

I'm just brain-f***ed enough to go all in for him.
Q though: would he beat trump? Who would be a suitable and willing running mate?
Autumn
(44,980 posts)suitable running mate. Damn, I had no idea until I watched this video just how politically astute he is.

(24,717 posts)Who do you think would vote for him who didn't vote for HRC, to put him over the top?
I'm not sure any current Dem pols would agree to be his VP. He might have to draw from elsewhere.
I WILL be donating to his fight pac. 👍
Autumn
(44,980 posts)contenders will be hesitant to fight Trump on his terms and I think that's what it will take. I'll be donating to his fight pac too.

(1,427 posts)your question--
the misogynist pigs who wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton because she is a woman!

(1,483 posts)Although he lost me at 2:27 "I am the only one who can beat Trump."
Okay. Hear me out:
Rep Eric Swalwell has all of the media savvy that Avenatti does. He isn't using it to pump Eric Swalwell at the moment. But I am pretty confident that he would smash Avenatti in a debate. And absolutely destroy Trump.
We shall see.

I'm keeping my mind open, while remembering that each time I went on to trust men who gave me that feeling I always ended up regretting it. /understatement

(43,044 posts)That's why Avenatti has been important. He countered this harsh administration. It's not that we don't have Democrats who give great speeches and serve their consituents and make a lot of noise in their state or in Congress, it's that because this is an off-year election, they are not national figures that grab constant headlines. Avenatti has filled that role. The Stormy Daniels episode has been like a mobile tabloid keeping Donald Trump off his game. It generated political energy where there was only fascism. The Avenatti presence has been shrewd.

(4,861 posts)But as for the real candidate, we need someone who can understand the extent and depth to which government agencies have been compromised by antigovernment elements, and how to mitigate the damage.
Second, the candidate needs to rapidly rebuild America's ability to deter international aggression. This will require close coordination and trust between the executive, legislative branches and intelligence, military, etc.
I think Swallwell would be a great candidate for meeting those goals. Also Eric Holder.

(13,877 posts)Yes, they are "appropriate and qualified" and I love both of them...but, who cares if they can't get into Trump's gutter with him and sling it back. My positive determination is his ability to "pivot"...which is what Trump could not even understand, let alone accomplish as many of his clueless voters were so confident he could do. He was just too stupid to do anything but self-aggrandizement i.e. run for office. He's still doing it...it's all he knows. How do we know? Ergo, his Base Base. But, he's lost Fox News after 2 years of constant campaigning...says something.
I wish Avenatti had more of the traditional trappings, like a Beto O'Rourke. But Beto is not yet ready for national prime time. I pray he wins his Senate Race. Then...all bets are off...but he needs that national service to go along with his ... niceness, for lack of a better term.
But like Avenatti says...there is no one, at this point in time, who can take on Don the Con and beat him at his familiar con game. Harris? Lived in CA for 50 years. Love her. But, no. Warren? Give me a break...love her, too., but he slimed her with Pocahontas forever. Booker? traditional pol. Bernie...too old. Down the list...don't see a street fighter.
HRC never knew what hit her. US Politics never knew what hit them. Never had a guy win who claimed he could shoot someone and get away with it. Imagine Obama...or Bush...or Clinton????? But, he was right. That is who he is. Don the Con.
As of today, I'm with Michael Avenatti.
