On a happier note, what if we do take back both houses of Congress?

Besides stopping Trump from putting any more Federalist Society judges on the Supreme Court and keeping the tax rate where it is, that is.

I would really like to see people with taxable income under, say, $75,000/$55,000 married/single be allowed to use both the standard and itemized deductions, and to deduct medical expenses regardless of how much they spent. (Right now, there's a limit: if you don't spend a fairly large percent of your income on medical expenses, you can't deduct them.)

Then, we'd only need to convince 16, or so, GOPers to help oust trump. Hoyt Oct 2018 #4

We would be able to stop him a lot, but would be able to pass nothing over his veto

We'd only start the process of repairing the country. We should focus on voting rights and investigations of Trump. We probably won't have a big enough majority to over-ride Presidential vetoes, but that will also work to our favor in 2020.

It's a matter of how afraid they are of the republican jade that still loves him.

They still fear a primary battle more than anything and crossing Donnie is suicide for republican politicians until *foxnews* tells the republican base that Donnie is finished.

I don't see that happening anytime soon, if ever. Maaaaybe after a big loss in 2018 *and* 2020.

Maybe.

1) investigate the crap out of him and his fellow criminals;
2) stop right-wing judicial appointments (if we get the senate); and
3) pass bills that stand zero chance of becoming law but position us well for 2020.
