The farmers will still vote for 45. They have collected their subsidies, raised prices are making

huge profits. The cattle men have raised their prices even more than produce farmers. They are feeling no pain...It is we, the consumers who are really bearing the brunt of the tariffs. The rich can pay the higher prices and they do willingly because their windfall tax reductions are what they like. I haven't bought beef or pork in over six weeks and the prices keep going up. Learned to like eggplant in a variety of ways that make it taste like meat or seafood. Still buying chicken but tired of it. Rice and veggies are becoming a thing in our household. Feeling better tho.

Farmers and cattlemen know tariffs will lose the foreign markets they previously had forever, long after any subsidies run out, once their former customers get used to new suppliers. I wouldn't bet the ranch that they are happy about it.

before moving off to alternatives. I cannot support the farmers/ranchers output. Farmers/Ranchers need the foreign markets or they cannot make a profit.

They have no where to sell their produce this year, and it was a bigger than usual harvest to boot.

The subsidies the farmers collected didn't even come close to covering their losses, most had to sell at a lower rate, which means they aren't making these huge profits

It seems that Brazil bought up a lot of the soy bean harvest, but at a lower price, because the Chinese stopped buying from American farmers...if they were lucky most American farmers broke even!!!

food prices are soaring and no one seems to be talking about it. A nickel here, a dime here...no one notices but the percentage increase on a $1.10 item is huge.

next ten days. Beef and Pork as well as Chicken are going into Storage in order to keep prices from collapsing. All bets are off come Wednesday morning folks. Locally we seeing both Beef and Pork as a Grocery Ad Football. When you can buy NY Strip, bone in for less than five bucks, kiddo's something is not right. And this is top Choice Beef on sale at Albertson . Every thing has a shelf life and the Shelf life is coming to a end. You see this happening every Election Cycle.

They were the single largest customer before this, primarily using the bean as livestock feed. If they can find enough product elsewhere, or find something else to feed their swine, or just use less of it, several of those farmers will be going down the tubes. They may still vote for him, but they will be shooting their livelihood to pieces when they do so.
