Hell of a line in VA-8

I got to the polling station at 5:45 (it opens at 6) and I was voter 300 and something. The line is physically longer than it was in 2016, and the only contested races on the ballot are Kaine/McNazi and a flood insurance ballot question. Now to hold my breath for fourteen hours or so.

VA-08 is the most heavily Democratic district. Sounds like the enthusiasm on our side is extremely high

There needs to be vote by mail in every state. It's safe. I'm in Oregon.

3. Damn. My town of 75K has 60 districts w/2 machines each, 15 polling locations. 3-4 mins max to vote.

.

Four districts share a voting location, as people enter, they branch off to their district's table, sign in and vote.

I think twice, I waited 5 minutes, as two people were in front of me for the booth, and that was back in the 90s.

5. Long lines to vote is a sign of contempt by the elected officials for the citizens they represent.

I'm sure if you take more than 30 seconds of their time, they would be annoyed, but hours of yours... no problem.

6. The length of the line is not important

If it takes more than a few minutes, that's a problem. But there are corrals and tables for about 50 voters at a time.
