Turnout is HUGE around here!

I just voted in Central CT. Normally I park, waltz in, and am out in about 2-3 minutes, no exaggeration.

Today, first of all I had to wait for a parking space (I vote at the middle school, large parking lot). Then I had to wait to check in, wait to get my ballot, then wait for a booth to fill it out. I've NEVER had more than one person ahead of me before. The last time I waited on line was back in 1992 when I voted for Bill Clinton.

I hope this is a good sign for Democrats. If even one of the nine republican candidates in this election wins I'll be very angry. They all suck this year, not one that I'd be satisfied to represent me.

Here it's pretty much Democratic, but seems to be getting more republican each election. George II Nov 2018 #3

Usually walk right up and have my choice of ten available voting booths. I had to wait for one to clear. I got there around 6:30 and was told by my neighbor, who was staffing the precinct desk, that it had been much busier than usual, and he's been volunteering for more than 20 years. Said it was similar to 2008, maybe even a little heavier at that hour. The majority of names on our street list had been logged in already. There have been times when I've voted late in the evening and saw only a quarter of them highlighted. Seems like a positive sign.

Oh, and in the parking lot, I saw people engaging with the campaigners for Dems and ignoring the ones for the Repubs.
