6. Georgia voters report long lines and malfunctioning machines

James Herndon in Decatur, Georgia, tells CNN: "Lines are long. So that’s great! But, they are extremely delayed. Up front they are having trouble verifying lots of people. People who live here and vote here whenever possible."

Herndon said his wife "put the card in the machine and it shot it out and said 'error' when she turned it in and asked what was up."

A polling worker there told her that it showed she had “already voted" and said “that has been happening this morning” -- but didn’t explain why that machine was still being used or why her card went back in the stack to be used again.

They gave her a provisional ballot and told her it would be counted, asking her to write what happened on the back.

Elsewhere, Ontaria Woods of Gwinnett County tells CNN she has been waiting in line to vote at Annistown Elementary since 7 a.m.

8. More about what is happening at Anniston Elementary:

I’m at Annistown Elementary School in Snellville, GA, where hundreds of voters have waited 4.5 hours to vote today because electronic voting machines weren’t working
12:08 PM - 6 Nov 2018

.@RepHankJohnson told me this issue is happening in at least 4 precincts in Snellville. He blamed Brian Kemp and called it a “last gasp” effort by Republicans to suppress voters of color

One African American voter told @joshua_eaton she arrived here at 7 am and didn’t vote until almost noon. Her husband left the line because he had to go to work

The Democratic Party is having a press conference at the Snellville, GA polling place. @RepHankJohnson and others will discuss this voter suppression. Will live stream in a few

.@RepHankJohnson, who represents Snellville, urges Georgia voters not to turn down provisional ballots. Voters have 3 days to rectify issues so their provisional ballot will count.

“A provisional ballot is much better than no ballot at all.”

Democratic Party officials here say they hear Gwinnett County will keep the polls open at least 20 more minutes because of these issues. I also hear litigation has been filed to extend hours even longer

A reminder that voting advocates have pushed Brian Kemp and his office to provide a paper back-up for its electronic voting machines. Kemp has refused

“No one will ever know whether the results to come out of the midterm elections in Georgia are actually what the voters intended,” David Cross, an attorney representing the plaintiffs in a lawsuit over the paperless ballot system, told me in September

They better get a lot more than a 20 minute extension of polling hours.

The State of Georgia now admits that power cords were not provided for the voting machines here.

Power cords.

Could the blatant vote suppression be any more obvious?

Always in a democratic stronghold too, what a coincidence!
