DON'T let the Republicans move the goalposts...

They will attempt to do exactly that if the Republicans hold onto the Senate tonight. But remember how everyone treated the Democrats' losses in 2010 despite the fact the Democrats still managed to save the Senate. Republicans have had an easy senate landscape for a solid year now. We always knew it would be very difficult for the Democrats to win it back as many Democratic seats were left to be defended - and many in conservative states Trump won. The Republicans SHOULD keep the senate and not only that - they should actually expand their lead there with how much of an advantage they're at with this senate map.

Anything less than the Republicans holding onto BOTH chambers tonight will be a massive failure and a complete, and utter rebuke, of President Trump and his divisive, hateful and racist policies.

Republicans and their media enablers will trumpet any positive, even if it's as tiny as Needy Amin's hands, as "proof" that they are the truest and purest expression of the will of the people. Republicans will lose control of the House today, and might even lose control of the Senate. But if they hang on to a 50-50 split in a year of a very bad Senate map for Democrats (Democrats are defending far more Senate seats than the Republicans are), they'll claim that's vindication of every damage inflicted on the country for the past two years.

We're defending a ton of seats and they're defending rather few. 6 years ago we picked up seats in the year of Obama's relatively easy re-election. These seats should be hard to defend now.

If all we do is break even, that's actually a huge failure for republicans. If we pick up seats with this map, that's a real repudiation of the Republican Party.
