I had a lot of unopposed Republicans on my ballot today

It's tough to turn an area blue (or even purple) if there aren't any options.

1. We had two, one for sheriff and the other for county clerk I believe. Left those blank.

4. I'd listened to a radio article about the Democratic Party

failures in Missouri. It sounded like the split is going to be long lasting.

8. So which office are you running for next election?

Sounds like you have several to choose from.

12. I'm not local

It would be nearly impossible for a non-local (a damn Yankee at that!) Who doesn't attend church to win here. Need to find qualified candidates who fit the area.

10. I had the same thing on my ballot but it was Democrats

Because I'm in Chicago and the GOP here is a joke. My local reps, all, were running unopposed. Same for key state positions (sheriff, Sec. of State, Comptroller etc)

11. My mother in SC said there were a couple of state

commissioners , like agriculture, that were unopposed but every other office had a Dem challenger. This is an improvement for South Carolina.

13. For the first time in a long time

We had only one unopposed R on the ballot. FL Dems have worked hard to make sure races were competitive this cycle.

14. I had a handful of local races and one judge.

Sheriff and some county seats, but nothing big. Most, for the first time, had opposition! It felt good.

15. There were 2 of those on my ballot, both Republicans

County engineer and local judge... there should be the option for write-ins all across the board.

16. I had two goops running unopposed

I used the write in space and voyed for Alec Baldwin and Pee Wee Herman.

Over the years, I've spent write in votes for such luminaries as Popeye, Whoopi Goldberg, even Jeffrey Dahmer once.

19. I had two unopposed when I early voted, both republicans.

I live in a red county that is moving toward purple. Hospitals, healthcare and the police forces are the biggest employers in the area. The ratio of government to other workers is the highest that I have seen anywhere. I own my business and I have two brothers that are business owners, one deals some with government agencies.

The problem in my county is the lack of high tech businesses like biotech or even medical research facilities, all of that is in Gainesville, which is bright blue politically. If my county had more knowledge based businesses, I believe that it would become blue due to a higher percentage of educated people that have science backgrounds.

20. Another Tom Perez Failure

At least Bernie eviscerated the influence of super delegates for 2020.

I want Howard Dean screaming about the 50-State Strategy for the next 6 months. With him as chairman, these inexcusable gaps would be plugged!
