With still about two hours left, voter turnout was over 63%. Brevard broke 62% in 2002.
I cannot wait to see the returns start coming in.

(24,653 posts)Not as deep red as most assume for a variety of reasons.
NPAs and minor party registrations more than cover the gap between Rep and Dem.
Because Reps too often run unopposed and FL has closed primaries, it is not uncommon for Dem sympathetic people to register Republican since local and state elections can get decided in the primary. My husband and BIL being examples.
Rep turnout has been stronger than Dem/NPA/minor party turnout in general elections, so an increase in overall numbers is more likely to be because that group is showing up in larger numbers.
This is why I am eager for returns. I am anxious to see if the above is what is happening. And if some Republicans are breaking ranks. The latter being the least likely of course.
