I had a ballot by mail sent to my address. I did not know that I needed to turn the mail in ballot if I wanted my in person vote to count. I now have to call 800 815-2666 and request they count my provisional.

(9,696 posts)Don't worry, California actually counts all the ballots.
That's what happens in states run by Democrats!

(92,061 posts)which implies when you registered, or made changes to your registration to vote that you signed up for voting by mail.
All you had to do was mail in your ballot filled out. In fact California allows you to mail in your ballot up to 3 days after the election to be counted.

It should be understood that California counts all ballots, including provisional ballots, as long as the voter meets the requirements.
You can also call to find out when your mail in or provisional ballot was counted, or if it wasn't counted why it was rejected.
California is one of the most flexible states for voting

(30,540 posts)I took it to the polling place today and handed it to them. I could've mailed it today and as long as it got there in three days it's valid. I dropped it off because I was going out in that direction anyway, no line, no problems, they took it and put in the big box, no big deal.
