1. Always, always, always check your polling place.

I currently live where I can vote at any polling place in the county. Give them my name, year of birth, name of the street I live on, they see who I am and print up the ballot needed.

7. I know. Especially when it's the same place for some time.

I got caught unawares when my polling place changed on me some years back. Ever since then I make very sure I know where to go.

Although now that I live in New Mexico, it's not an issue, as I can go to any polling place in the county and they print up my correct ballot on the spot. Also, lots of early voting which is what I almost always do.
