There are enough good people in most other states, they don't get to vote as easily. Our voting system is better equiped to be safe, and all votes counted.

It's like the chicken and the egg....which comes first, being a blue state or having good voting systems?

And CA has it's red spots.

a lot of noise but they are here.

I used to live in the mountains east of Bakersfield. I did not talk about politics or religion with my neighbors.

We were as white as snow.

has moved in the right direction, and the Midwest may provide moves in the right direction

In fact, I would argue even in the places where we didn't make it we are moving closer.

The important thing now is that we retain the House, and that will leverage us for 2020

Keep in mind after trump won in 2016 the pundants were spewing that the Democrats had no chance to win in 2018

The House is very much in play

The racist seem to be more concentrated in the south and south east.

Oregon is reliably blue. The I-5 corridor has large cities with predominantly democratic voters. But if you travel to the eastern part of the state, it’s solidly red. It’s just that there are more of us than them in this particular state.

Small towns are everywhere in this state. There are racists in small towns and big towns, but there are just more democrats in the metro areas here.

As does Massachusetts and New York. They also have a lot of modern industry, knowledge industries, as does Massachusetts and increasingly New York. If the same changes happened in certain parts of Florida, for instance, that state would trend strongly blue, sort of where Virginia appears to be headed.

of racists out here in the Bay Area. My older sister complains all the time about getting followed around in stores and being treated funny in the science field as a Black person. Racists are everywhere, I'm afraid.
