This stuff stinks here

Democrats lost the chance to get control of the Senate. Lying Ted got re-elected. We do have control of the House, which is better than nothing. Is there anybody out there that can pick out the silver lining from this cloud?

November 3/2020, two years away.

UPDATE

Alright I could not see past the negativity I got.
All of the positives mentioned here are something to build on.
I posted the above from being angry that it happened. My bad. I have to ask that we get by that shit I wrote above.

Gaining control of the House is quite frankly the most earth shattering thing that could have happened tonight. Not to mention the Governor's races outside of GA and FL that we flipped. Some of the biggest names lost tonight, yes. However, they were window dressing on the biggest prize of all, the freaking House.

We're also picking up half a dozen or more governorships, and there will be good news in state legislatures as well.

Kansas elected a Democrat as Governor and a gay Native American to Congress. It would have been great to take the Senate, but that never was going to be easy.

We honestly didn’t have a chance to do that. It was going to be a very rough cycle for Senate Dems, but the next election looks more promising.

We never really had a chance to get control of the Senate, so we did not lose the chance to do so.

If you can't find the silver lining, I don't know what to tell you.

few Republican seats. That means we had to hold every one of ours and win over two of theirs from a very, very small pool. It was never really a possibility.

In 2020 there will be a ton of Republican seats up for re-election. Our chances are very good to retake the Senate then.

My personal favorite is still Joe Kennedy III, but I am resigned to him staying on the sidelines for a while to gain experience and build up his resume. Beto brings a lot of the same things Kamala does - intelligence, demeanor, inspiration...so in my book the talent available is a big boost to the party...

Huge takeaway to own the House. A lot of progress with Governors. Don't complain that we didn't flip the whole government on its head. We did good.

Yes, Cruz won, the smarmy bastard. But he totally got a run for the money and Beto did way better than I bet most expected. Texas might not be there yet, but you don't think Dems made significant progress?

My advice: celebrate the victories and the overall shift in direction and don't dwell on the lost long shots.

The House is powerful. And, it is a check on Trump's power. The Senate was always a tough call.
