Good luck with red tides, good luck with cyanobacteria blooms.
Better buy some rakes and buckets and respirators, because if you think anything is going to get better with DeSantis, guess again.

(13,817 posts)But I can dream can't I? The reason felons did not get much love from Scott and company to get their vote back was b/c most were black and hispanic. That group tends to vote Dem..
We will see in 2020..

(16,951 posts)and I do mean no one on DU voted for that POS. Some sympathy for those fellow DUers who are now stuck with him would be greatly appreciated.

(24,647 posts)I am gutted by the people at DU who should be able to understand and sympathize, not only failing to do so, but making it worse.
If I see one more post telling disappointed DUers in red areas to get over it and focus on the US House win, I'll scream. We bloody know that's a game changer and are excited and proud of that. But it doesn't change the fact that we have to live in areas the GOP will continue to destroy. Local and state elections have real and immediate consequences in our lives.
If I see one more post telling me good luck with what I'm stuck with because the majority of voters (or the majority of votes counted) in my state went GOP, I'll scream. Does anyone here really think DUers didn't pull out the stops to try to swing things our way?
This is just insensitive bullshit.
We worked hard here to get Democrats elected. We are crushed.

(62,265 posts)When he mentioned Gillum conceding that woman in the audience cackling was the epitome of half of that state, and half of the south.

(21,059 posts)too many "we saved the world" posts for me. As bad as things are in the US right now and with an openly racists pResident in the WH, for this NOT to have been the "blue wave" that we were told was coming is depressing.
As I said in your post, we will hear the word OBSTRUCTIONISTS till we are sick of it from now till 2020. Take care PP.

(8,187 posts)I understand. We came way too close to losing the governorship here in Connecticut, and that wouldn't have begun to compare to what our Florida Dems are suffering through.
I realize that Democrats throughout the country are exhausted, angry and venting about the Florida results, and also looking to celebrate anything that they can celebrate. But yeah, some empathy for people who worked hard and went to bed bitterly disappointed would be nice. In the meantime

The party crawled uphill over broken glass to get a majority. With those heavily gerimandered republican districts now in our column, I feel pretty great!

(11,804 posts)wait - I would have voted for Gillum anyway. So what's your fucking point?

You'd think there aren't millions of democrats in Florida after reading some of these posts...
