Wisc, Mich, Penn electoral votes total 46.

If Hillary had won those three states as we usually do, she would be president. The fact that we did well there last night, that is very good news for us in 2020. One term Trump? Yes please.

The main goal here wasn’t to win a governorship in Georgia or a senate race in Texas. Are you kidding me? Those are republican states. The main goal was winning back some power in Congress to stop the republican agenda and the goal moving forward has always been making trump a one term president.

Mission accomplished on the first, very good sign for the second. Lots to be hopeful about after last night. Good job rust belt.

The nightmare of total gop control with a maniac as Pres is over! You hear me? IT IS OVER. Let that sink in.

They’ll be the ones who will have more ground to defend - and the ground isn’t as stable now as it was (all those reliably red states last time). They’ll be in the same position then - that we were in this time.

True, the Good Guys lost by single digits in the Lone Star State last night, But they lost by single digits, NOT double digits. Depending on who we run in 2020 and how badly Donnie screws up in the next couple of years, there’s a chance, perhaps not a “Yuge” one, that we could win Texas, too.

A LOT of our elected Democrats are Latinos. OTOH, Donnie’s been kicking Latinos, at least the darker-complexioned ones, in the teeth.

I suspect that Donnie et al threatening their healthcare and encouraging goonish behavior by ICE and others might encourage some to vote Democratic instead of being hassled for going around being brown.

At a minimum, they would have given us veto power when new districts are drawn for US House and State legislatures after 2020 census, making it harder to elect Democrats in those states for the next decade.

We have two Trumps to deal with. Even if Trump is ousted in 2020, I still have to deal with a Trumpian Governor.

both Georgia and Texas are trending towards pink

Texas was just about the same spread as Ohio in 2016, and I know they put a ton of money, time and effort into Ohio (8.13% in Ohio and 8.99% in Texas). TX in 2012 was +15.78% for Romney - so, Clinton cut that almost in half.

Arizona was also closer at the presidential level than it has been in a while it was 3.55% in 2016 and 9.06% in 2012 (it was +10.76% for Bush in 2004. Can't use 2008 as a comparison since that was McCain)

I'm going to wait until Ralston calls it Blue to make that distinction myself, but the rural surge wasn't enough to combat what the Dems did statewide in Washoe and Clark. Dems banked up a 48k Firewall in early voting and it looks like Rosen won with about a 50k vote lead.
