My niece worked with Kaine campaign and this is her beautiful account of what happened:

Last night while knocking doors, I was told go pick up a gentleman who needed a ride to the polls. It was 6:40. I ran down the road, jumped in my car and made the 10 minute drive. It was 6:50 when I got to him. Now I’m panicking in my head because I’m not sure how far away his polling place is from where we are and I don’t want to be late!

He was temporarily disabled and needed a wheelchair for assistance. I crushed EVERYTHING in my backseat to make room for his wheelchair. Important papers, food, boxes. We made it to his polling place at 6:55. He casted his vote at 6:57 sharp!

On the way back to his home, this gentleman said “I didn’t think I’d get to vote today because I didn’t have a ride but then you pulled up and for that, I will be forever grateful”

Moral of the story is this: It is our civic duty to vote but it should be our moral responsibility to help those who can’t vote by themselves.
