There was an uptick in growth during the spring and summer - but most of that had to do with rising interest rates (which always spur growth in their early phase, as purchasing managers and borrowers rush to avoid higher rates) and of course Cheeto's brewing trade war with China (same reason).

By next year we'll have $1 trillion+ deficits - but growth at the same or lower levels we saw during the 2015-16 slowdown.

Conveniently timed, that was.
