Trump @PressSec confirms that White House has suspended the hard pass of a reporter because it doesn't like the way he does his job. This is something I've never seen since I started covering the White House in 1996. Other presidents did not fear tough questioning.

It is the obligation of the free watchdog press to question the president on behalf of the American people.

Boycotting that obligation would mean an administration like this one could end press privileges.

That's why our dutiful reporters lay down a marker for history every day that the First Amendment was honored, the people were served, and the Constitution remains.

Hands off the free press.

The reporters should report on what is really happening in the White House, not the lies being fed to them. The press doesn't need access to a serial liar and his toadies. Report the truth.

being booted out. It's like if you have big trouble on the job, it's really better to make them fire you sometimes. I've mostly worked at places that never contested unemployment that I knew of, so that usually worked out.

Getting kicked out and having video evidence that it was over a legitimate question is probably better than being part of a boycott.

For no real purpose...SHS has taken the role into the absurd, just as her boss has done with the presidency. Many times I've wondered why they all genuflect, more or less, at this vacous task.

It's one of those things...what if they held a press conference and no one showed up. I mean, have we every learned ANYTHING from these, other than watching shameless verbal combat?

I know it's too much to ask, but it does bear some reflection on the dinosaur relationship between the WH and the Press. Merely a charade. Time for the "enemy" to to feint and let them fall to the ground in humiliation.

His fellow colleagues would tweet support but just feel great it wasn't them. There is zero solidarity in this field. Everyone is just too busy trying to get their "gotcha" moment. Hell, just look at how April Ryan is consistently treated and reports asking questions afterward doesn't even acknowledge how she's being disrespected.

Nothing will change with them until it's too late.
