BREAKING: Calif. bar mass shooting suspect identified as Ian Long, 29, several law enforcement officials tell @NBCNews – @PeteWilliamsNBC,” MSNBC reported. According to ABC News, the suspect’s full name is David Ian Long, but he went by his middle name and was known as Ian Long.

The 29-year-old white male from California died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene. According to NBC News, the shooter drove his mother’s vehicle to the bar. Police said the gunman was “heavily tattooed,” but did not provide details about the tattoos, which were used to identify him along with fingerprints, NBC News reports.

According to ABC News, “Law enforcement say the shooter is a white man in his late 20s who lived in the area. The weapon was a 45 caliber Glock and was legally obtained.” He was described by the Los Angeles Times as wearing a “black shirt, black hat and black glasses.”

1. When are white men going to face the reality

I'm only half joking here. We hear all the time about how African Americans need to discuss black on black violence. We hear about the need for the Muslim community to confront radical extremism. Heck, we heard endlessly about the need to use the expression "radical Islamic terrorism. Let's get real here. An amazing amount of these shooters are white as a sheet. They're all male. There's a problem sitting right in front of us and no one will "speak its name".

3. What is causing young white males in our society to snap at unprecedented rates?

Find the answer to this, and you'll understand why we're seeing so many of these shootings. Personally I think it's a combination of various factors in our society right now. They're under a large amount of pressure due to a variety of factors, and they're also inspired to copy the other mass shooters. It's become the 'popular' thing to do now if you think society has screwed you over.

It's hard to identify societal factors that ONLY affect white males. About the only one I can really identify is the loss of privilege.

Perhaps young men in other races/cultures deal with this stuff differently by simply committing suicide or something.

I'd like to say that we need to fucking get a handle on why there is so much violence inherent in white male culture.

We are doomed to the normalization of these mass shooting until we figure this out.

really do believe that they are entitled to do whatever they please.

When they don't get what they want, many become violent.

I've seen this in my own extended family. This is just another facet of their adoration of AgentOrange.
