"A People's Wave" Rebukes Trump: Democrats Retake US House With Mandate to Chart Bold Progressive Course

From the article:

After massive energy driven by two years of tireless grassroots organizing nationwide, ambitious left-wing platforms, and sheer revulsion at President Donald Trump's plutocratic and racist agenda wrested control of the House from the GOP in Tuesday's midterms, celebration quickly transformed into pressure on the new House Democratic majority to heed the demands of the progressive forces that swept them into power and deliver on the bold policy promises that carried dozens of working class champions to victory.

1. Democrats have usually stood for progress... but all hail the young voices sparking the old farts

We’re all in this together and it’s OK that some (the young) have more energy than others (the less young). Hopefully the young will learn some strategy from their elders, and the elders will start using Instagram, etc.

Go team! Bring on the Renaissance and the NEW new deal. Debate, refine, start over, stay connected!

2. Agreed. And polling supports a progressive agenda.

Medicare for all, a living wage, strengthening Social Security, and many other progressive positions are very popular in both parties.

That Democrats start “owning” the mantle, “Most competent with the economy.”

...and specifically in this way:

Democrats know how to build the best infrastructure to support the PEOPLE’S ECONOMY. They are way ahead on developing plans for a REGENERATIVE INFRASTRUCTURE which not only juices participation in free enterprise by the majority, but does it in a sustainable fashion.

Only the smarter party can do this. It’s not elitism, it’s wisdom.

The Republicans on the other hand, serve the short term interest of millionaires and billionaires and deny the planet is being choked by SUVs and environmental deregulation.

The GOP has no interest in actual government, save for holding on to power so they can do the bidding of their corporate owners.

There should be no compromise on these positions. The actual voters agree with us on this.

REGENERATIVE INFRASTRUCTURE!!!

(Dems OWN the mantle “best leadership on an infrastructure that serves free enterprise for the people, and a robust, sustainable economy.”)

8. If we want to HOLD power, we need to work hard on HEALTHCARE, GOOD JOBS, and other kitchen tablers.

If we are going to keep power, we need to focus on the bread and butter kitchen table issues. We need to force the narrative that way, and not with a load of controversial stuff that does not help people into the middle class and those already there.

we must all pressure our Representatives and Senators and we must keep pressuring them. Voting is a necessity, but pressure is also necessary.
