...but immediately I have to ask what he's doing on Fox News.

And if a congressperson has enough experience to run (which I say they do), then I'd rather it be someone like Beto who camethisclose to winning statewide election in Texas.

I loathe cable news. It is a cancer on this country and a large reason why we are in the current state of shit. Which is why the fact that he's willing to go on the show of someone like Cavuto, on Fox news makes me skeptical.

I do read a ton of political sites every day, and linked news articles therein and have definitely never heard his name. Even here on DU to be honest with you. I just a did a 1 year DU search and his name has only come up 20 times which is not much compared to a lot of folks, including Congressional reps. And even in those 20 times the posts were rare about him specifically and just mention his name.

I mean I just a 1 year DU search and his name has only even been mentioned 20 times in a year which doesn't seem like a lot.

He's a Rep from CA. Incredibly photogenic, progressive, and smart. I hope he runs because a) I'd like to see more of him (Y'all can have Beto, leave Swalwell to me) and b.) upward mobility for Dems in CA (and other solid blue states) is difficult. That being said, I'm also torn since this may cut into Sen. Harris' CA margin. He probably doesn't have the profile that she has in said state though. This kind of seems like one of those Cabinet presidential runs.

it's difficult from somebody coming from the House to get to the presidency.

Before Obama, it has been a long time for even a Senator to make it to the White House.

I know he's divorced (and later remarried) - is there any baggage from his first marriage that could come up? (These things are important for Democrats, but Republicans get mulligans on the "morals" issue)
