Whitaker's plan to fire Mueller as I see it

I think Trump will do anything to prevent the indictment of Don Jr and Kushner, even if there are already seal indictments of them.

Whitaker will order Mueller to do something that Mueller will have to refuse, like quashing the indictments already returned or not to present them for indictment to a grand jury despite having a mountain of evidence to justify indictments. As a principled lawyer Mueller will have to refuse such action, or inaction.

Then Mueller will be fired for insubordination.

I think it is that simple and I think Trump is that desperate that he will do it without hesitation and as quickly as possible despite any firestorms that may occur as a result.

2. Well, right now he is acting AG and no one is challenging it legally

If Whitaker's appointment was illegal (and I agree it was illegal), why in the world isn't anyone challenging it in court? OK, so maybe SCOTUS will eventually rule for Trump due to its partisan makeup, but we don't even try? What is going on that there is no effort whatsoever to set aside the appointment?

Maybe they feel they need some kind of overt act to include in a court complaint before filing to show "damages" in court as a result of the appointment. Other than that, I can think of no reason why they haven't filed yet.

7. Yes, I agree that would be the better, stealthy way to do it, but

perhaps not the fastest. Firing Mueller would at least delay the indictment of Donny and Jared or the unsealing of their indictments. That seems of paramount importance to Trump, perhaps not only for personal reasons, but maybe also for tactical reasons. Mueller would be replaced, but that would take months, further kicking the can down the road and delaying any final report until, ultimately, no report can be produced until after the 2020 elections. Trump has already delayed the investigations for 2 years. Why not another 2?

and as such, he will be even more reckless and stupid than usual. Whitaker will be risking legal charges and disbarment if he fires Mueller or interferes in the investigation.

You may be right though. The next few days will be a shitstorm that will be a sight to behold. This will not turn out well for trump and Whitaker.

And this steroid-infused meathead doesn't look so bright. That's probably why Trump put the dumb galoot in there.

Trump likes chaos. Once again trump controls the conversation and it's all about trump. Will Whitaker risk his career and do something stupid?

From trump , and he says it wasn't, then they have evidence showing it was, this guy is toast, and heading to prison . He should be very, very careful he's not setting himself up now if he does anything. I think they already know what he and trump are doing now.
