He is trying to cover for avoiding Senate review of the AG by throwing Mueller into the mix.

Trump is an idiot. He has little to no understanding of the processes of government, but you are correct that he is throwing this confusing information out there for his idiot followers to repeat. He didn't think this up himself. He has no original thoughts that are cogent and understandable. Someone told him that and he is just reaching and repeating it.

Mueller confirmed as FBI chief
August 2, 2001 Posted: 9:15 PM EDT (0115 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Senate voted unanimously Thursday to confirm Robert Mueller as FBI director.

The Senate vote was 98-0 to approve Mueller for a 10-year term, the same day the Senate Judiciary Committee recommended his confirmation.

The 56-year-old veteran prosecutor was President Bush's pick to lead the bureau. He told the Judiciary Committee during a two-day confirmation hearing that his top priority would be to "restore the public's confidence in the FBI, to re-earn the faith and trust of the American people.

Senate Extends Term of F.B.I. Director
By CHARLIE SAVAGE
JULY 27, 2011

The Senate on Wednesday voted unanimously to extend the tenure of Robert S. Mueller III as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for two more years. Mr. Mueller, first appointed by President George W. Bush, was to step down on Aug. 2 because of a 10-year term limit imposed during the post-Watergate era. But President Obama asked Congress to allow Mr. Mueller to stay on, arguing that his national security team needed continuity because the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency were getting new leaders.

Nor was Trump's phony health report. Nor were a lot of things.

The only thing here that matters is if Mueller's findings are fact-confirmed. If they are, look for Trump to declare "my work is finished here" and take early retirement.
