I'm more than 100 miles (closer to 200) from a large wildfire; air quality is like 10

And it is inescapable. Strong acrid wood smoke smell. By looking around at my neighbors trees and comparing foliage, visible haziness is very evident in as short a distance as 100 feet. Thick (both density and height) grey layer on the horizon in every direction. The Sun is well above the horizon but the light coming through is dim and sunset orange.

I know thoughts and prayers are all played out, so I guess I'll try to find out if there's anything I can do beyond the cliche Red Cross donation. A relative of mine once lived in Paradise, but thankfully moved several years ago.

learned of this hideous fast-moving fire last night. I know what it's like, living in the Pacific NW. My thoughts are with you and all there!
