Mr. Kellyanne is as much a political creature as she is, and has been hip-deep in GOP shenanigans in the past - just more in the background.
Right now, she's bringing home the paycheck from the Mercers and the White House as a token female advisor/mouthpiece, so it's her time to be in the public spotlight. He'll probably just hang around sniping to "keep it real", until a Koch candidate gets enough national power to be a policy maker, then glom onto that figurehead and start work for real.

For them to be together still, they probably have a business is business arrangement. Typical GOP "power couple", living off each other's networks.
