7. it's hard to blame them when foxnews is widely viewed and widely tolerated.

when i was a kid, such views were rightly described as the lunatic fringe and scoffed at.

these days, foxnews is on in many public places like bars and restaurants, and for the most part the rest of the media accepts it as a news channel rather than dismissing it as a propaganda machine. even on other stations, the lies started on foxnews tend to dominate the news. even if they cover it in a less biased fashion, they still give their agenda far too much airtime and therefore legitimacy.

it's really no wonder so many people just eat it up and insist it's the truth.


we really need a coordinated campaign to make it clear that foxnews and such is *not* remotely a legitimate news outlet. until it is a constant subject of ridicule, people will always fall for it hook, line, and sinker.
