The article says:

Nadler added that, while the committee won't investigate or seek to impeach Kavanaugh, it will look into whether the FBI investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against the justice was adequate.

That's an investigation.

Impeaching a Supreme Court justice is as difficult as impeaching a president - maybe more. It has been attempted only once, in 1804, and the attempt was unsuccessful. Some federal court judges have been impeached but in all cases they have been accused or convicted of crimes like fraud and bribery. The judiciary committee understands that they would be wasting their efforts; they'd need 67 votes in the Senate to convict, which will be impossible.

No, they won't. There's a whole lot the Dem House of Representatives CAN do, however.

if they don't get everything the way the want it. That's how we got here in the first place.
What would it be like if everybody on the Left threatened to leave if they don't get things their own way?
Let's have a much needed DU reality check here: impeachment doesn't remove anyone from office and without conviction, it won't. It's highly, highly unlikely that either Trump or Kavanaugh will be impeached and convicted and outside of somebody's fantasy, neither will be in orange jump suits and go to prison.

After Gore/W, HRC/Trump, someone who says “maybe next time I won't bother voting for a democrat” is nonfriend and does not belong on DU. IMHO.

Their not crybabies, they are fifth column. Won’t get fooled again.

I may be being harsh - we have our differences, but voting straight ticket Dem shouldn’t be one of them of them.

How many times does it need to happen until we learn that any Democrat is better than any Republican?
Even in Congress I would rather have a Democrat who most of the time with the party as opposed to a Republican who will never vote with the Democrats. But Republicans count on those on the Left demanding political purity from Democratic candidates and then refusing to vote for them when they fall short.
Unless the Left remains vigilant and dedicated in this war, the Republicans will be totally back in power again. Even if Democrats take all of Congress and the White House, those tens of millions of Trump supporters are going nowhere and they tend to vote like it was their duty. So it's imperative that we support all kinds of Democrats and realize that there are states and districts what will never elect a liberal Democrat, but might elect a conservative one and that person counts towards the Democrats controlling the legislative body and its agenda.

That’s the thing isn’t it - That’s what has changed. You KNOW how they are going to vote no matter how urgent, or what the merits may be. The will vote lockstep against the Dems.

There was one - One GOP vote in the House for Obama’s stimulus package- and that guy was primaried away immediately.

A Republican might be nice enough personally but you know how they are going to vote - they left their conscience behind when they stood for office. There’s no excuse for sitting at home when you KNOW what will happen if they get in.

I personally do not care what the likelihood of a conviction is, You might be okay with being lied to but I'm not, I was told by the Democrats running for office that Kavanaugh will be investigated and now they're telling me it was all just a lie.

who do you think would replace him? Somebody just like him or even worse, that's who, because that's the kind of people Trump likes: The only qualification you need is a previous expression of an opinion that favors Trump vs. the Russia investigation. Maybe he'd nominate Matthew Whitaker; is that what you want? Roy Moore? And there are plenty of other right-wing lawyers and judges out there. Until a Dem is president we don't want any more Supreme Court vacancies.

to remove him, and even if he were removed, someone equally awful would almost certainly replace him as long as Trump (or Pence) is in office.

Before Congress and then refer all of those who have perused themselves on material issues to professional federal prosecutors.

That would include Kavanaugh, Jr., Ross, Zincke, Pruitt, and head of GSA.

Investigating people is what they did to Clinton. We should investigate crimes, especially a pattern

If convicted we really wouldn't have to worry about the Senate.
