Is this something that he plans to continue? Unless we understand why he did it, it's hard to gauge his effectiveness.

It was inevitable that they'd be approved. On balance, it was to our advantage...

Considering that it appears that we had a blue wave, afterall. Maybe not a bad strategy.

And since we lost seats in the Senate.....well you decide whether it was effective or not.
I'm sure to some, this is a sign of Schumer's brilliant strategy as a leader and anyone who says otherwise must be a Russian troll or Trump lover or whatever else.
Personally for all the grief Pelosi gets, I think Schumer is a much less effective leader.

Would they have stopped any of the judges from being confirmed?

(36,294 posts)6. We had to defend 25 seats and we lost 3, maybe 4. Depends how Florida turns out.
Repubs did worse. They had 8 seats to defend and lost 1, maybe 2. Depends on how it goes in Arizona.
