Sherrod Brown Thinking About Presidential Bid

November 12, 2018 at 10:51 am EST By Taegan Goddard

After comfortably winning re-election to his U.S. Senate seat last week in a state that President Trump won comfortably two years ago, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he is weighing a run for president.

Said Brown: “My message clearly appeals to Democrats, Republicans and independents. We showed you can get votes by being authentic and standing up for workers. People in Washington don’t understand the dignity of work.”

... among others. He is progressive and also has broad blue collar appeal as evidenced by his ability to win elections in a state like Ohio while other Dems struggle statewide. And Brown would help secure the upper midwest states for the Democratic ticket. Downside, his vacant seat would be filled with a Republican.

That being said I'm not sure he can win the nomination.

I am comfortable with all the names floated but one.

Rust belt roots, strong on the issues, and has a compelling voice that grabs you on a visceral level.
