This portrait of newly elected members of Congress is striking. Of 31 new Republicans, just one is a woman. (There may be a 2nd if Young Kim wins in California). Nearly all the men are white.

The Republicans look like America in 1940. D for drive forward and R for reverse as was said at the Democratic convention a few years ago.

We flipped a district in SC that hasn't gone Democratic in 40 years (Mark Sanford's old seat around Charleston). We need to be on that list! And so do the other states that come after N.

This is the perfect example of why they want to control/restrict the voting process. They can't keep it up for another generation though. Truly a dying party...can't happen soon enough for me.

14. I gave these photos the NYC subway test

If I got on a subway car and the only people there were all those Dems it wouldn't phase me. Just another subway ride.

But if I got on a car and only all those Republican white guys were riding in the car with only one other woman besides myself it would feel off notch.

16. Quick review show this (I may be off by one or two, just looking at the photographs and names):

republicans - 31 members, 30 men, 1 woman, 31 white
Democrats - 40 members, 21 men, 19 women, 22 white

Not only is there only one republican woman, all the rest appear to be white men. The Democratic lineup is so diverse in almost every way.
