Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump met again with his lawyers on Monday to go over a series of written questions from special counsel Robert Mueller's team, according to a source familiar with the session.
The meeting was the latest as the responses are finalized, and the source said the answers could be submitted to the special counsel in the coming days.
The questions focus on Russia collusion and not obstruction of justice and are part of an agreement reached with Mueller's team to "move forward," according to the source.
But there are other issues that have not been resolved, including answering questions about obstruction and whether the President will sit down for an interview with special counsel. https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/13/politics/trump-mueller-answers/index.html

(115,670 posts)I'll bet the meeting lasted 15 minutes and consisted of Tiny sitting with his arms folded and a scowl on his ugly orange mug while the lawyers tried unsuccessfully to explain to him that he really did have to answer the questions.

(2,146 posts)knows the answers. Trump thought he could avoid getting caught by demanding a written interview but Mueller will use the answers to corner Rump in a lie and also to indict Trump's co criminals.

(15,235 posts)Has anyone ever heard of Trump University, where Teflon Don used a typical real-estate course to bilk students out of thousands of dollars? It was criminal fraud!

(22,031 posts)I have more confidence in Mr. Mueller than you do, AJT. I believe he's inoculated his investigations to prevent Trump from shutting him down. Some of his findings have been off-loaded to States' Attorneys General and he's already secured significant convictions and pleas. In the end, this is not Mr. Mueller's first rodeo.
One other point: Whitaker will probably have to recuse himself from the Russian issues. The Department of Justice ethics/compliance officers will most likely make that clear since he's already expressed his personal views.
However, if I'm wrong, I will eat my words.

(1,089 posts)if the toady he chose to shut down the Mueller probe recuses himself? Oh, how I'd laugh. And then I'd laugh some more. And then I'd monitor Twitter to watch him completely fall to pieces in front of the world.

(2,146 posts)Mr. Toady is booted from office because of his criminal history and lack of qualifications, plus the fact that he has to be vetted before taking office. Effectively he is no more than an ass sitting in a chair. He has no power.

(15,235 posts)Besides, Trump-Tweets, of any kind, on the topic of the Mueller Investigation publicizes impeachment to a greater degree.

(1,981 posts)One is going to be, "Did Trump Jr. contact you immediately before or after his meeting with Russian operatives in Trump Tower?"
They have the unblocked number and know who Jr called.
One answer solidifies perjury on Jr. and is an admission of his knowledge and involvement, the other is perjury on his behalf.
The fact that he has to answer this has to be driving him nuts. I suspect they will try to refuse to answer this one.
