'Dead': California GOP totally collapses — and even its former vice chairperson says the party 'isn’t salvageable'

BRAD REED 14 NOV 2018 AT 08:28 ET

The 2018 midterm elections have further endangered the standing of the California Republican Party, which saw many of its Congressional members lose to Democrats last Tuesday.

Things have gotten so bad for the California GOP that even the party’s former vice chairman believes it can’t be saved in its current incarnation.

In a column written for CalMatters.org, former Assembly Republican leader Kristin Olsen writes an obituary for her party, which she says has not been able to escape the “toxic” branding of President Donald Trump.

“The California Republican Party isn’t salvageable at this time,” she writes. “The Grand Old Party is dead – partly because it has failed to separate itself from today’s toxic, national brand of Republican politics.”

California was never actually as "liberal" as all the RW haters liked to whine about, but they certainly weren't buying the Repub bullshit much anymore.

After the Gray Davis fiasco, and Ahnold 'won' that clusterfuck of an election, Repubs thought they were riding high. Except Schwarz, with all his warts, wasn't really a hard liner Repub. As an Austrian conservative, he was a bit to the left of the modern Repubs, especially after they started winnowing out any sense of compromise or centrist leanings.

When Gov Moonbeam came back, and the Lege flipped, all of a sudden the state started doing pretty well, thank you very much, even without much Repub input. Imagine that.

I have some advice to Repubs: Starting talking to and listening to some real people on the street, not a bunch of big money assholes.

Know her, she's from my district, and one of our county supervisors. A married family-values, Christian conservative who had an affair with another married politician, destroying his marriage. Trump shares a lot of the blame, but her ilk created their own downfall.

all that 'liberal' either, at least in the weird way in which pukes use that term. We're too big and have too many actual problems to be anything but pragmatic most of the time. That's why the yokels who believe the vision of dystopia out here that's sold by the grifters always makes me laugh. Not to mention, the pukes have moved so far to the whacked-out right that they've become - in some cases literally - modern day flat-earthers.

Their so-called 'ideas' have been tested for a couple of generations now, and guess what? They suck. That's proven. That's data. That's math.

As far as the current state of CA's pukes, good - learn something from it and figure out that this crazy shit you see all over the media isn't going to sell to reasonable people.

Now if we can just get those scumbags Hunter and Nunes off to jail where they belong, our state will get even better.
