(42,641 posts)At a certain point, people should recognize that it is time to step aside from leadership, and perhaps function as an adviser to younger members.
This is not an attack on the current leader, or an attack on older members of an organization. It is a recognition that none of us is immortal and none of us is infallible.

(37,748 posts)... and upon what objective measure is that number arrived at?
"So the Democrats should follow this example?"
I don't see anyone arguing a post hoc ergo prompter ho position that because McConnell does A, so should the democrats. I do however, see the arguments of Democratic leadership on their own merits, regardless of what the GOP may or may not do.
Unless you apply you arguments consistently, e.g., should a member of the GOP eat a hamburger, you'll criticize any Democrat for eating one as well ("so the Democrats should follow this example?), regardless of the spurious correlations in play.
Infallibility is often exemplified by use of logical fallacies.

(22,668 posts)Unfortunately for him, his deeds will result in the earth actually getting scorched. So his legacy will be anything but that of a successful majority leader.

(7,596 posts)He successfully stole a Supreme Court vacancy from a sitting president for completely partisan reasons. If he's remembered for anything, it will be that.
