(23,310 posts)I love your screen name...my son's baseball coach uses that term when my kiddo is playing 2nd base and we need a double play...he yells "Hey Owen! Twist one up!!"

(1,020 posts)Mine refers to marijuana cigarettes, also known as "fatties" (gen XYZ) or "joints" (boomers). It's a commonly-used term out here in SF, prolly not so much in MT!
Perhaps you might want to mention this to your son's coach! Lol

(23,310 posts)Ive heard the term used that way too...at the dispensary where I get CBD products. Luckily, the 13 year olds on my kids baseball team are oblivious...at least for now.

(16,784 posts)Is the wax likeness of the late Steve Irwin. His son does indeed have a gift, as well as looks like him. He and his sister, Bindi, are carrying on Steve's work and legacy.
Amazing photos as Irwin is still missed by Aussies here.

(46,039 posts)It was watching Steve that finally convinced me to get off my butt and get a pet snake. I adore reptiles, esp. snakes. For the last 17 years I've had an adorable corn snake. He's my precious sweetie.

Also reminds me how sad it is that such a wonderful and talented family must suffer such heartbreak, while pieces of utter garbage like the trumps seem to flourish unscathed...
Thank you for bringing some beauty to our day!

(12,503 posts)I suspect we will probably see him on a TV show, dressed as he is up top, jumping into the ocean like his father with just a scuba mask and his work boots on hanging onto some large mammal or reptile.

I watched a few shows that featured Robert and his older sister Bindi and their mom plus others from Australia Zoo.
Good program and it showed Robert doing the Croc feeding show for the first time. And Bindi has grown up into a beautiful young lady. Their zoo / wildlife hospital is something really special... and they are both taking after their dad. I loved the show and will look for it on the schedule in the future.

(2,367 posts)Sorry, but I am a professional photographer and saying that the equipment is the reason a photo is good is like saying that a song is good because the guy had a nice guitar. You have to know how to use the nice equipment, and that gear that that young man has has a steep learning curve. Nice equipment also doesn't account for the eye that the kid has for framing a shot...it's a real talent for sure.
geardaddy
(24,926 posts)I'm not a photographer, but I am a musician and can completely agree on your guitar analogy.

(7,367 posts)I'm just a bit jealous of his equipment. lol. When I was 14 I was using a borrowed Twin Lens Reflex. At best I could only shoot landscapes with it. The kid is good, no doubt about it. I always tell newcomers that the eye and composition are what counts most., and that the camera you have with you is the best one.
