By Tia Berger - November 15, 2018
A Leavenworth County Commissioner who was asked to resign last year for his overtly racist comments drew backlash again after making controversial comments toward a Black woman on Tuesday.
Commissioner Louis Klemp, a white Republican appointed by his committee in Oct. 2017, recently sparked criticism during a commission meeting this week, KCTV5 reported. The commissioners listened to a land-study presentation demonstrated by a Black woman during the forum when Klemp made derogatory comments.
I dont want you to think I am picking on you because we are part of the master race, Klemp told the Black woman. He then tried to clean up his remarks by adding, You have a gap in your teeth [while pointing to his gap]. We are part of the master race, dont you forget that.
Klemps colleague Commissioner Robert Holland told 41 Action News that he was shocked and in disbelief after Klemps insensitive words.
Whats this master race, said Holland. None of us are master race. Were all American and were all human beings. He should resign. I dont care if hes got two days left, he should resign.

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. Leavenworth County Commissioner Bob Holland called for his colleague Commissioner Louis Klemp's removal from office and an immediate apology.
It followed Klemp's remarks at Thursday's board of county commissioners meeting during debate on the county holiday schedule for next year.
"Not everybody does them all because we have Robert E. Lee...Oh God Robert E. Lee...wonderful part of history," Klemp said.
"Mr. Klemp certainly embarrassed Leavenworth County to the extreme. I just believe he embarrassed himself, his family and our Leavenworth County taxpayers," Holland said.
. . .
In addition to his comments on Robert E. Lee, Martin Luther King Jr. and George Washington, Klemp said a lot of African Americans don't like Abraham Lincoln because he didn't move fast enough to emancipate slaves.
He also offered one parting comment about a potential holiday on the county list before voting against it.
"I keep waiting, I didn't see Oprah on there, she's not on there as a federal holiday," Klemp said. "Well, Martha Stewart was the first billionaire so maybe she ought to be on there instead of Oprah."

I did a quick search and learned his great, great, great, etc. grandfather came from Germany and became a prosperous businessman in the area, and the family has a street named after them in Leavenworth. Whooooo! Hey, Leavenworth! This guy is an abject failure as a human, incredibly stupid, and he won't stop yammering. He could use an assist off the banks into the Missouori River which runs by the town.

(160,483 posts)just like Trump.
No doubt your family is far, far more balanced, more awakened than this guy, from two different worlds. He's still stuck in his early childhood.
He sits on his duff and gibbers, probably just as he did in his stupid crib, while his two stupid parents giggled and drooled, watching him!
He has a horrible pretend sense of authority in his behavior. It almost triggers a gag reflex just listening to him which is like listening to a slow-witted, self-important cranky alcoholic.
He really does have a self-important posture toward other people. It's so hard to take. No doubt he's deeply disliked by any and every sane person on town, if there are any! He sees himself as being a very big fish without seeing how small his bowl is.
