Move On supports Pelosi for Speaker

?s=19

MoveOn

@MoveOn
We strongly support and call on all members of the Democratic caucus to support @NancyPelosi for Speaker. Were it not for her skilled and effective leadership, the ACA would not be law today. Dems must reject attempts to defeat her and move caucus to the right

Democrats should be wary of throwing away one of the most disciplined speakers in recent memory. Pick a speaker who is over their head and the House turns into a shit storm fast.

One more thing: Republicans ran against Pelosi this year and had their worst loss since Watergate.

The constituents of the #fivewhiteguys and other anti-Pelosi Democrats should be inundating them with calls, emails and faxes. Why are they trying to hurt the new Democratic majority in the House?

Nancy told a reporter that most of the names that signed the letter calling for a new leader were men and she was hesitant to bring up the gender issue too. It is glaringly obvious.

So good to hear. Let some of our new congress critters get some experience in committees and then they can think about being Speaker of the House.

That's enough to drive a person nutty, having your connection go in and out. I have what should be reliable internet service but it's terrible. Not as bad as what yours sounds like but compared to what I had before I moved. And it makes me want to pull my hair out. I feel for you.

cracking me up! I haven't read Wonkette in awhile. It's so Awesome that all these really Cool Peeps are supporting Nancy.. like we just know through years of experience she'd be the best

Think I'll just c/p some nuggets here..

The anticipated electoral "blue wave" now feels more like a riptide: You don't see it coming and then it murders you

Okay!

It's no wonder architect of our success Nancy Pelosi has coasted to presumptive Speaker of the House with a pro forma closed-door vote. No, wait, that's Chuck Schumer.

The Senate is structured such that Democrats have to compete in solid red states to have a shot at the majority, and yet no one suggests ditching Schumer for Sherrod Brown, who is from the midwest and is fully conscious.

Burn!

Donald Trump and the GOP tried to frame the midterms as all about the nightmare scenario of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Every dude with an opinion -- so like every dude -- suggested that Pelosi was a "threat" to Democrats' midterm chances

These people never seem to think that Mitch McConnell, who is less popular than leprosy, is a Republican albatross. Once the results were in, even conservative pundit Joe Scarborough admitted that Republicans ran hard against Pelosi and suffered their "worst loss since Watergate." Here endeth the lesson.

Abigail Spanberger, who defeated David Bratt in Virginia's 7th, said she won't support Pelosi because "we need new voices." That's you, lady. You're the new voice. We're all glad you're in DC now with your new voice. We don't need "new" voices as House Speaker. We need an effective voice that knows what the hell it's doing. I don't even want a "new voice" for my dental hygienist.

BaZing!!

Priceless! Thank You, Hermit!

I check wonkette when things make me want to smash furniture. That part about Schumer, IMO, just highlights how there might be a bit of sexism at play here. Hey, it exists somewhere, I'm told.

The Repugs are desperate to keep the gavel out of Pelosi's hand. Did you see the thread unroll explaining that attempt to contrive conflict between Nancy and Ocasio-Cortez?

I think that is finally getting more attention than the misinformation about a "protest". Not much chance M$M will try to undo their rush to judgment, though.

It was a relief to see this OP and the one "Indivisible endorses Nancy Pelosi for Speaker":

Yes, I saw that thank you! And, to mcar for posting all those endorsements for Nancy OPs!

That's true.. my Blue Dog Congressman, Michael Arcuri, District 24, in New York lost his seat after he voted for ACA(Healthcare!). In the big Hate Machine 2010.. courtesy of rw and purity stay-at-homers.

Obamacare still popular.. Nancy helped get it in and now she can help protect it. Funny Ol World!

I hadn't seen any other writing by Robinson. He seems to 'get it'!

There's not enough said about those who risked, and lost, their seats for taking a stand for US. May they find reward in their accomplishment or a new seat at the table if they seek it.

Not allowing others to divide the Democrats will win. Remember how divided some were when Obama was President , and all the things lost because of it. Pelosi better get these malcontents whipped int shape quickly or this will happen again.
