Compare and Contrast Trump with GWB

This is a follow up to an earlier post comparing Trump with Nixon

- off the top of my head - neither was elected by the American people. GWB killed lot more people - asleep at the wheel for 9/11 then Afganistan & Iraq wars. Presided over the Katrina disaster & the 2007 financial crash. In bed with the Saudis. Lined the pockets of Halliburton & Blackwater. Linguistically challenged.

How many lives, how many families were broken by his wars and the Great Recession?

On the other hand, may have been fooled by Putin but did not sell us out. Did not conduct a frontal assault on the press.

One thing in common - both lobbied hard for Kavanaugh

1. GWB was far worse, just because of all of the people that died or suffered because of him

Just the other day a Marine OD'd at my job. Imagine what this guy went through in the mid-2000's. This is all on Bush. I hate him.

2. GWB was lazy and let Dick Cheney do most of the plotting and scheming.

I don't think he was affirmatively evil, just passively so. Trump is affirmatively evil. He likes being bad. W had pets. Trump doesn't even like animals. W wasn't a sexual predator and he seems to care for his wife and children; Trump, not so much, except for Ivanka, and his fondness for her seems skeevy. W was often incoherent but since he retired he at least seems to know when to shut up. Trump never shuts up. I'm not trying to rehabilitate W - he was a terrible president - but I don't think he ever plumbed the depths of narcissism and depravity like Trump does. W did enormous damage because of the Iraq war, but I have no doubt that Trump is capable of more and worse if he were to serve two terms.

Trump is the type of guy who would get two homeless men to fight with a promise of fifty dollars to the victor and then not pay him.

He might be the first truly evil man to occupy the office.

Intellectually, I know he is. He’s a naked sadist. I felt worse about Dick Cheney swimming in death.

Cheney's evil was attached to a goal. That's why I'm harder on Stalin than Mao. The former was gratuitously evil. Mao's evil was attached to a goal.

The shoe fits yes. I know it’s real - I just haven’t met any of them (who were prepared to reveal themselves).

But get back to Bush policies on steroids, and promote his judicial picks?

Hillary and Bill also seem to be chums of George and Laura Bush.

"One of the most touching truths in modern political history is that after they left office, the Bushes and Clintons developed a genuine friendship and mutual respect that led to their working together on matters that would make the world a better place, such as helping those around the world who had been ravaged by national disasters."
